Digital Marketing Intern

Project Scope:

The purpose of the project was to provide an in-depth analysis of email marketing and the competitive email landscape. This was accomplished by identifying top and bottom performers in the areas of subject lines, open rates, and sales to drive an understanding of what makes an email successful. We then created an email for each brand to send out based on our data findings.

Ideation and Execution:

  • Analyzed subject lines for 2019, totaling around 1,750 emails

  • Tracked email frequency for the three brands and their competitors

  • Compared product vs. promotional emails

  • Conducted surveys for employees to further research

  • Defined our two sectors as urgent emails vs. compelling emails for text analytics

  • Provided recommendations for analytical methods and predictive modeling, creative comparisons, and tracking system

  • Found similarities in email creatives for each brand and tracked their clickthrough rates

Final Email Sends:

  • Created email creatives and subject lines based on positive trends and pitched them to each brand manager

  • Worked with creative teams for each brand to express the vision and create the final email products

  • Finalized emails with brand managers and sent final emails to each brand mailing list

  • Presented final projects to company employees, managers, and executives
